Huellas
En el año 1999 Gaby plantea una vuelta a las raíces. Un proyecto que trasciende lo fotográfico. Más de un año de desarrollo, viajes a comunidades indígenas, un equipo multidisciplinario. La más importante investigación antropológica, realizada en Argentina, sobre la vestimenta de las mujeres pertenecientes a las culturas precolombinas que habitaban el país. Respaldado por el Museo Etnográfico de Bs. As y el antropólogo C. Martínez Sarazola, este trabajo cuenta con el apoyo Naciones Unidas y fue utilizado como material de estudio en escuelas, dado su alto valor a nivel visual y antropológico. Representantes de algunas de estas etnias supervisaron y realizaron vestuario y accesorios, de acuerdo a antiguas técnicas y costumbres. La dirección de arte recrea, en el estudio fotográfico, el hábitat natural de cada grupo étnico.

In 1999 Gaby initiated a return to her roots in a project that transcended photography and involved over a year of planning, multiple visits to indigenous communities and a multitalented team.
The subject matter was the traditional dress of women from Argentina’s pre-Colombian cultures and it marked the most important anthropological investigation ever carried out in the country on this subject, backed by the Museo Etnográfico of Buenos Aires, anthropologist C. Martínez Sarazola and the United Nations.
Representatives from various ethnic groups assisted in the choice of clothing and accessories to best reflect their ancient traditions and customs. The natural habitat of each ethnic group was recreated in the studio.
Given its value on both an artistic and anthropological level, the work has also been used as teaching material in schools.
